The inaugural IES United States Ethics Review
A forthcoming student-authored journal featuring the strongest essays from across the national chapter network, edited to a standard usually reserved for undergraduates.
The IES United States Ethics Review will publish its first volume in 2027, collecting the strongest written work produced across the American chapter network during its founding years.
The Review exists because dialogue, on its own, is forgiving. A position can sound persuasive in a room and collapse the moment it is written down and handed to someone unsympathetic. Writing is the Society's mechanism for making student thinking accountable beyond the meeting that produced it.
Submissions are open to all chapter members and are read blind by a student editorial board with faculty review. Essays are judged on the quality of reasoning, the treatment of the strongest opposing case, and the discipline of the prose — not on the conclusion reached.
Accepted pieces enter a genuine editorial process. Authors should expect substantive revision requests, challenges to unsupported claims, and, in some cases, a request to argue the position they set out to defeat. The process is demanding by design.

The inaugural volume will also carry a small number of commissioned pieces from advisory council members, placed alongside student work rather than above it — a deliberate editorial choice consistent with the Society's intergenerational premise.
Submission guidelines and deadlines will be distributed to chartered chapters through their regional directors.
